Wow, it feels so good to get things completed! JJ’s quilt is in the dryer as I write this, and I can’t wait to see how it turns out. I love how the colors came together, and I hope JJ loves it just as much. He is, however, a toddler, and toddlers are notoriously choosy. Perhaps the animals will draw him in for a snuggle.

Completing JJ’s quilt has brought a sense of calm in my heart. I longed for more children (see A tiny piece) and every new baby I met kept that longing alive. It seems silly that simply completing a quilt can quiet that voice, and I can’t explain how, but it has happened. The process has been a long one; the healing has begun.
