An important part of quilting is the community of quilters, both online and in person. Last month, I checked out the Mary’s River Quilt Guild and this month, I became a member. It is so great to be in the same room as so many quilters! And the past two speakers have been amazing and inspiring.
April’s speaker was Allison Aller of Allie’s in Stitches. Her crazy quilts are so beautifully complicated and detailed. I love her spirit of design and creativity — so inspiring for this “sane” quilter!
May’s speaker was Janet Fogg, and I am still in awe of her quilts. Her works have such powerful scale. I love the way she mixes graceful appliqued animals with lovely pieced quilt designs.
Both of these women have inspired my quilting, and I encourage you to click through to their websites to see their quilts.
How have guilds played a role in your quilting?
