There’s nothing like community to inspire a quilter.  The multitude of beautiful quilt blogs, books, Facebook pages, Twitter feeds and Pinterest followers have inspired me this week, especially on the days I wasn’t able to sit at my sewing machine myself.

And face-to-face community is even better.  Tonight, I was privileged to attend the Eugene Modern Quilt Guild and met such a lovely group of women who were so kind and welcoming!  I’ve also attended a more local guild, the Mary’s River Quilt Guild, and been inspired by the amazing speakers the guild has hosted.

All this community warms my quilter’s soul, and gives me energy to sew, sew, sew!

Here is what is in progress this week:

Baby Boy Quilt

Look at this sweet fabric!  I also picked up a couple coordinating fabrics.  Now I need a design…

Baby Girl Quilt

No image for this one, but it is layered and awaiting some pins.  Hopefully tomorrow that will happen.

Mom’s Quilt

This one has been moving a lot more slowly that I had hoped.  I need to write out some on that, but for now I will show you the progress.  I’ve added the border to the completed rows, and so it is about one-third of the one done.  I need a bigger design wall!

And last, but not least, is my block for the Beginner’s Quilt-Along.  I’ve made a page just for this project, which is here and can also be found in the menu above.

Block #2 is called Peek Over The Fence:

That’s it for this week!  What are you working on?

You’ve got some great projects in the works! The quilt for your mom is going to be fabulous – keep at it, it’ll get done!! Love that baby boy fabric, too. You are lucky to have a MQG in your area – wish I did :)

Thanks! And I appreciate the encouragement with my mom’s quilt. I want to write about quilter’s block and how to work through it. The MQG was so awesome, but it’s actually about 45 minutes away. It would be fun to start one in my town, but I need to feel it out a bit more first. You could start one where you are!

I love the new banner and clean look of your blog!! :) You’ve got some really neat projects going. How was the modern guild meeting?

What do you think?
