Weekly Wednesday Update 3.13.13

A whole lot of not much has happened, quilt-wise, in my life this week.  We’ve been busy preparing for my hubby’s 40th birthday party and a visit from his brother.

BUT!  I did finish Andrew’s quilt!  This is an exciting finish because it’s the first quilt I’ve made for my son (who is 14!), even though I’ve made countless quilts for lots of other babies and kids.  Terrible, isn’t it??  I had started a quilt (my very first) for him when I was pregnant, but never finished it.  So, it was well overdue and I’m kind of glad that it turned out this way, as I was able to make a quilt that will grow with him.  Seriously, this baby’s LONG.  Ninety-five inches to be exact!  Did I mention my boy is tall and getting taller by the day?

Done! There's a good foot more of quilt hanging on the other side of the fence, too.

Wonky picture showing the red back, with pieced triangles, and the navy trim. All the boy's choice.

Smile for your close-up!

Due to the birthday plans, I was forced to clean up my sewing area.  A picture was in order, as it is a minor miracle that it looks so neat.

Consider yourself lucky to see this miracle.

I have some deadlines coming up (Simply Solids and Covert Robin!)…. must get to them after the party!

Happy sewing and I’m linking up with Freshly Pieced!

Very cool triangle quilt! I finished one for my daughter this week too. The colors you (or your son?) chose are great together! Very boy ;-)

Hi Renee! Thanks for stopping by. :) Yes, the colors are very boy — he wouldn’t have it any other way! I chose the front fabrics and he chose the red backing and the navy binding. I’ll have to go check out your triangle quilt!

Oh my goodness, Connie! That quilt is beautiful! And your Scrappy Trip quilt is looking pretty awesome! I can’t imaging having to clean up my sewing room for company! Hope you’re bringing those quilts to CMQG next week :)
